Thermal Imaging of Electrical Power Instalations
Author: Damian Ligęza – Commissioning and Service Engineer at Introl Automatyka Sp. z o.o.
Thermal imaging is a non-invasive diagnostic technique that uses a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature of an object. The resulting image (called a thermogram) maps the actual heat distribution on the surface using proportional colors. Modern technical solutions allow for high quality measurements. The biggest (and often overlooked) issue is taking into account the influence of environmental variables on measurement accuracy and the correct interpretation of the results obtained. Thermal imaging is becoming increasingly important in a growing technical spectrum.
